The Qatar Museums Authority  inaugurated The Museum of Islamic Art Park with a ceremony and concert  in the presence of  HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and launched the sculpture “7” by international artist Richard Serra. The opening of the park was in time for Qatar National Day with the purpose of  attracting the attention of the local audience and visitors through a variety of cultural activities and exhibitions as well as to keep pace with the urban development witnessed by the state.  The most prominent art work displayed at the MIA Park is a 24 meters -high sculpture by international artist Richard Serra, the first work of art of artist Serra to be on display in the Arab region.

The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers and a number of Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Qatar. A concert for Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra was held on the occasion.

The event was organized and designed by Auditoire, a well known french event management company in the region with lighting designer Alexandre Lebrun.

TechnoPro, a Dubai based technical production company with a branch in Qatar provided the Alusfera Dome Structure, PR Lighting equipment, and Meyer Sound Speaker System for the event.
